How to upgrade ezCheckPrinting software

If you have not purchased ezCheckPrinting, please feel free to download ezCheckPrinting latest version. We updated ezCheckPrinting on Sep 6, 2013 to make it compatible with Windows 8.1.

If you purchased ezCheckPrinting before Sep 2013, you should not download version 6.0. Your old key code will  not work for ezCheckPrinting version 6.0 and later.  If you decide to upgrade your version to the latest version, you need to purchase the new key code.

Steps to upgrade ezCheckPrinting software

If you already installed ezCheckPrinting on your machine, you can update it by the following steps:

1. Log in your machine as administrator.

You must have administrator permission to install the MICR font.

2. Backup your data first.

Although your data should be safe during this process, we always suggest you backup it first.

You can click the top menu "Accounts->Back up current account" to back up your data. If you have more than one account, please backup all of them.

3. Uninstall ezCheckprinting from your machine

You can open control panel, then select "Add or remove programs" to see program list. Then remove ezCheckPrinting from there.

4. Download ezCheckPrinting and install it again.

How to add a new text label to personal check

EzCheckPersonal check writer  is very flexible and allow customers to print personlized checks on blank stock to save time and money. Customers can add extra labels and lines to check easily.

Following is the step by step guide.

1. Start ezCheckPersonal software.

 

If you do not have it installed it, you can download it from

2. Click the top menu “Settings->Check Layout  Setup” to open the check layout screen. 

 

 

3. You can customize almost any item on this screen. However, you need to select the target field from Item Picker list first.

 

- 1) You can select “Custom Text 0” from Item picker. Then you will see this field in red color on screen.

- 2) Set it to visible

- 3) change the text desciption

- 4) Then you can change its position in two ways.

--          You can select this field on screen by your mouse, then drag and drop it to the new location.

-          You can adjust values of Item Location fields to move it.

 

4. Save your changes by clicking the SAVE button.

How to write recurring checks faster

ezCheckPrinting check writer enable customers to print the professional checks in house. Writing a check is simple and quick with ezCheckPrinting! Customers simply enter the date, payee’s name and amount payable to the payee. This check writer will automatically convert numbers to words. Customers can write and print a check with just a few clicks.

 

Sometime you may need to write check for the same payee again and again. Here are some tips to write recurring checks faster and easier.

 

1.       Use duplicate check feature

For example: You need to pay bill to water company each month. Each time they are with different account.

 

You can select an old check from check list and click the “Duplicate” button to add a new check. ezCheckPrinting will copy the old check but with new pay date and check number.

 

You can edit the amount or other field if needed.

 

2.       Use Import function for bulk checks

For example: You need to write check for 50 employees every week.

 

You can generate the checks manually for the first week. Then click the top menu “Import/Export” to export the checks to an external .csv file.

 

When you need to generate the checks for the second week, you can click the top menu “Import/Export” to import check data from this file and generate checks quickly.

Note:

1.       If these employees are paid at different rate each week, you can edit the .csv file with new amount. Then import the data. You can use EXCEL or NOTEPAD to edit .csv file.

How to fill out a check

EzCheckPersonal software is easy to use check writer for family users. It can fill out the data only on pre-printed blank checks. It also allows users to  print personalized checks on blank check paper with logo and signature.

If you need to print data only on pre-printed checks, you can click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to open the check setup page. You need to uncheck the option “Use blank Check Stock” to use the pre-printed checks and save your change. Then ezCheckPersonal will not print your bank information on checks. You can find more details below:

Step 1: Start ezCheckPersonal

If you have not installed ezCheckPersonal, you can download it for free at

Step 2: Setup your bank account to use pre-printed blank checks.
Click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to open the check setup page. And uncheck the option “Use blank Check Stock” to use the pre-printed checks. Then ezCheckPersonal will not print your bank information on checks.

 

Step 3: Add a new check
Go back to the main page. Click the New button to add a check. Select this check from the check list and click the Print button to print your check.

 

 

 

Step 4: Print Check

Select the check(s) from check list and click the PRINT button (see image in step 3). Select your target printer and you will see the pre-preview screen. Since you already chosen to use the pre-printed check, EzCheckPersonal will print the data only on checks.

If you are satisfied at your checks, click the PRINTER icon to print the checks.

How to Print Quicken Checks On Blank Stock

How to print Peachtree checks on the blank check stock

You need to export the check data from Peachtree first, then import them into ezCheckPrinting and print checks.

 

Step 1: Export check data from Peachtree to .csv file

- Start Peachtree, open the check Register Report

- On the Register Report screen, click the button “Edit->Copy” to copy your data to the clipboard.

- Open Microsoft Excel, then paste the report there (Ctrl+V ). 

- Delete the report title, summary data and empty space. You just need to keep the headers and check data.

- Click the top menu “File->Save as” to save this file as csv file (Comma delimited file). Close this file.

Step 2: Import check data to ezCheckPrinting and print checks

- Start ezCheckPrinting software and click the top menu “Import/Export->Import Checks” to open Import Checks screen.

- Follow the step by step instructions to import data. Close this screen.

- Select the new checks from list, click the “PRINT” button to print checks.

    Followings are the steps to move ezCheckPersonal from the old machine to a new one.

    1. Install ezCheckPersonal first on your new machine.

    If you have more than multiple accounts, please select a new database as your current one and back up them one by one.


    4. Copy the database file from USB disk to the application folder on your new machine.

    Question: Instead of printing a signature graphic can we print the words "Pre Approved Draft - No Signature Required"? 

    Answers: Yes. EzCheckPrinting is very flexible and allow user to create a check draft. 

    (Note: we released ezCheckDraft software in Year 2014. If you have bulk draft checks to print, it will be easier  to use ezCheckDraft Software, which is designed for bank draft check printing.)

    Any business can create a check draft. A regular check is created by the account holder, and signed (authorized) by the account holder. A check draft is created by the merchant, and the signature is not required. The account holder must authorize the merchant to create a check draft.

    Followings are the steps to create a check draft if you receive a check by phone, fax or online.

    Giving products away for free may seem like a strange way to grow a business, but for Louisville, Ky.-based Halfpricesoft.com, it has been the key to success.

     

    Having sold fewer than a hundred copies of their payroll and check printing software titles in the first years of business, software developer Halfpricesoft.com now sells thousands of copies each year now by giving away their full-feature versions through partnerships.

     

    Halfpricesoft.com launched in 2003 with a focus on creating payroll tax software solutions that is easy to learn and affordable for small businesses yet full-featured. The company found it difficult to market software as a start-up, since customers were unfamiliar with the company, and sold only a handful of copies in its first year.
