Dear DeWitte,

I think your check set up should be fine because your bank can accept it. Do you have office/home laser printer that you can print a check and try it at Wal-Mart and other locations?

We suggest customers to use MICR ink printer and laser printer. We do not suggest INK-JET printer.

Some grocery stores and ATM machines may not be able to scan the check printed by the ink-jet printer because the scanner is too OLD. (Some customer told us that Wal-Mart could not scan his check issued by IRS. )

Please feel free to contact us if you still have any questions.

Thank you.

Dear Casey:

My "sample check" was one that I printed to myself using your software and proper coding on check safety paper.

I took one sample check to our bank where the account is from which the checks are to be written. The bank cashed it for me.

I took another sample check to Walmart to be cashed just to prove that the checks that I plan to print would be usable, but learned that it could not be scanned.

I am convinced that I need MICR ink to print the checks.

My printer is a Brother MFC-J4310DW inkjet printer.

I have been unable to buy MICR for my printer.

Please advise where I can buy MICR ink for my printer.

Many thanks.

What do you mean "SAMPLE check". Is your business check set up with the valid account information?

You can view the reason that a check cannot be read. The #4 is the most common one.

I printed a sample check on check safety paper but upon taking it to Walmart to try cashing it, their scanners would not read the check so it could not be cashed. Apparently I need to use MICR toner. My printer is a Brother model #MFC-J4310DW but I've been unable to find MICR for it. Please advise how I can print my checks so that they can be scanned for cashing.
