Line 1 is supposed to show gross income which it does not on his W2. If you look at the summary it shows his gross income but it does not show on his W2. Line 1 on the summary shows $32, 611.90 and his W2 shows $29232.58. He is a minister and has no withholding except his 403B which is shown on line 12. He pays his own health insurance and we just take it out of his salary as well as another insurance. For some reason the program is not picking up all of his gross income. Not sure what to do now?

Dear valued customer,

Box 1 is taxable income, not gross income.

Page 16 from IRS guide
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/iw2w3.pdf

Box 1—Wages, tips, other compensation. Show the total taxable wages, tips, and other compensation that you paid to your employee during the year. However, do not include elective deferrals (such as employee contributions to a section 401(k) or 403(b) plan) except section 501(c) (18) contributions.

Thank you,
