How to print QuickBooks checks over network

With ezCheckPrinting software, multiple customers can share the data and print QuickBooks checks on blank stock easily.

Followings are the some options to print checks over network if multiple users in your company need to print QuickBooks checks.


Option 1: If you will print checks from your local computer and printer

You can install both ezCheckPrinting and virtual printer on client Machines. If you need to share the same ezCheckPrinting database file, you can share database file on the server.

Step 1: Download and install both ezCheckPrinting check writer and virtual printer on your first machines with administrator permission

You need the administor permission to install ezCheckPrinting, otherwise the font will not display correctly.

Step 2: Print QuickBooks check to make sure you can print it with your local database

Step 3: Copy local database file to network folder if you need to share the data(optional)

If you do not need to share the data, you can skip this step.

  • Click the top menu "Account" then "Duplicate Current Account" to copy this account to a network server

    Step 4: Edit ezCheckPrinting database path to use the shared file on the server.(optional)

    If you do not need to share the data, you can skip this step.

    Click ezCheckPrinting top menu "Accounts" then click "Select Account" to change the current database path.

    Step 5: Install ezCheckPrinting on the second machine, register the license key, and repeat step 4.




    Option 2: If you need to remotely access server to print QuickBooks checks with the local printer, you can install both ezCheckPrinting and virtual printer on local computers

    You do not need to install ezCheckPrintign and virtual printer on server with this option!

    step 1. Log on local computer as administrator, download and install ezCheckPrinting and virtual printer.

    Run ezCheckPrinting at least once to make sure it works.

    Step 2. Remotely access your server, run QuickBooks and print checks. You need to use the virtual printer on your local machine in this step.

    By default, the local QuickBooks virtual printer should be "ezCheckPrinting QuickBooks Driver (redirected)"

    If you need to share the ezCheckPrinting database file, continue.

    Step 3: Copy local database file to network folder if you need to share the data.(optional)

    Option 3: If you need to remote access QuickBooks on server and print checks from server printers, you can install both ezCheckPrinting and virtaul printer on server.

    You can download and install ezCheckPrinting and virtual printer on server and give access permissions to multiple users.

    1. Log on server as administrator, download and install ezCheckPrinting on server.

    2. Please follow this step by step guide to print QuickBooks checks

    3. If you can print QuickBooks check as administator, you can remotely access the server as a common client user and print QuickBooks checks.
    Each client should enough permissions(read, write and execute permissions) to access ezCheckPrinting application and database file on server.


    Note:

    When you share the folder and database file on the server, please give FULL CONTROL permission (or at least Read, Write and Execute Permissions) to ezCheckPrinting users.

    How can I know I have enough permission to access the database on the server

    - Open Windows Explore, navigate to the database folder on the server

    - Select the database file by mouse, right click to view properties. You need to have read, write and execute permisson.
