#1: User Permission Issue

If you are not a user with permissions to install software on your computer, please ask your IT for help. Usually you need to have admin permissions to install software.

#2 Installation Interrupted Error

We updated all of our software in Jan 2019 to be compatible with the latest Windows 10 and the latest printer drivers. You may see "Installation Interrupted Error" or other errors if your computer does not have Microsoft .net framework 4.0 installed or cannot run .net framework 4.0 correctly. Here are two options to fix this issue.

Option 1: Download the latest .net framework 4.0 from Microsoft site

#3 Some Anti-virus and Ant-spy Applications May Block Installation by Mistake

According to clients' feedback, the following applications may stop our software from downloading or running.

- Bitdefender - from Romania.
Our clients said they could edit the setting to allow our software running.

- Windows Defender - You can try the following solutions:

1. Add an exclusion to Windows Defender Antivirus

#4 Network Error

Some machine has higher security settings. You need to save this installation package to the local folder and install software from local folder.

You can open ezPaycheck download page, scroll down, follow the installation guide from step 1 to install software from local folder.

#5 Repair and Remove screen

If you see the repair and remove screen, that means you already installed the same or newer version on your computer. You need to uninstall ezPaycheck before you re-install it.

#6 "Your PC Settings only let you install verified apps from the store" issue

Solution: This issue is caused by a setting on your computer, which restricts third-party apps and software from being installed. You can modify the settings to solve this issue.

Click the "Start" button (at the left bottom corner of your screen)

Click "Settings"

Click "Apps" (or "Apps & Features")

From the "Installing Apps" dropdown list, select the option "All apps from anywhere".

Close the Settings window.

#7 .net Framework Error

Windows computers should have .net framework installed by default. You may receive this error if the .net framework is disabled on your computer. You can follow this guide to enable it from the control panel.

1) Open Control Panel.

2) In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features

3) Choose Turn Windows features on or off, and then select the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box.
This option requires an Internet connection. You do not need to select the child items for Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) HTTP activation unless you are a developer who requires WCF script and handler mapping functionality.

#8 Warning 1909: Could not create shortcut .lnk. Verify that the destination folder exists and that you can access it.

#9 Could not install the correct version.

If your computer caches data, please:

1) Remove the previous .msi installation files from your download folder. Or you can empty the download folder if there is no important information there.

2) Exit ezPaycheck

3) Download the correct version of ezPaycheck.

#10 Smart App Control blocks installation by mistake

Some clients reported this installation error when they installed our software:

"Smart App Control blocks an app that may be unsafe"

#8 Cannot run ezPaycheck after ezPaycheck is installed with no error
