Is check printing legal?
Yes, printing checks from your own printer is perfectly legal. However, they must be printed on special paper.

Do I need special printer toner?
A laser printer (or a MICR printer) is required to print checks on blank stock. If you will be printing check data only on pre-printed checks, you can use any printer.

Many of our clients prefer to use the office/home laser printers. However, MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) printers will print checks with the best quality.

We do NOT recommend ink-jet printers for blank stock check printing because we have found some ATMs and grocery stores may not be able to scan the checks if they are using the old scanners.

You can purchase the laser printer from your local office store and online.

What kind of blank check paper is acceptable?
DO NOT use plain paper! Blank check stock has security features (watermarks, micro printing, etc.) which help prevent fraud. ezCheckPersonal can work with any personal 3 on Page 8-1/2" X 11" paper and personal 4 on Page 8-1/2" X 11" paper.

Does it print the MICR encoding on checks?
Yes, ezCheckPersonal does print the MICR encoding on checks. You can print MICR bank routing numbers, account numbers, check numbers and bank information on blank check stock using a laser printer.

What are the system requirements?
Windows computers or Mac computers.

Can ezCheckPersonal run on MAC computer?
ezCheckPersonal offers both Windows version and Mac version. To print personal wallet-szied checks on Mac, you can download ezCheckPersonal for Mac version.

When I try to install ezCheckPersonal, it tells me I need to download the Microsoft .Net Framework. How do I do this?
ezCheckPersonal runs on the Microsoft .Net Framework, version 2.0. To download and install the framework, you visit Windows Update. The .Net Framework version 2.0 is listed as an available update for your computer. Select to install it. After it is installed you will be able to install and run ezCheckPersonal.

How long does it take to get the license key?

Start ezCheckPersonal and click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to open the check setup page. Delete the Signature Image Path. Then click "Update" button to save your changes.

How can I adjust the check printing position?
You can click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to access the ACCOUNT SETUP screen. You can adjust the check print out position by modifing the values of "Offset left", "Offset right", "Offset up" and "Offset down" text box. Learn more here.

How do I know if the check is properly aligned?
You can click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to access the ACCOUNT SETUP screen. You can print out "Check Alignment Page" and align you check on the bottom and right line to check if the Routing Number fits inside the correct box. The "Print Check Alignment" button is on "Check Setup Page". The Routing Number includes the leading symbol.

Can ezCheckPersonal print the blank pre-printed checks?
Yes. You can start ezCheckPersonal, click the top menu "Print Checks->Print Blank Checks". Here is the step by step on how to print blank pre-printed checks.

How to reset the current check number?
You can click the top menu "Settings->Edit Current Account" to access the ACCOUNT SETUP screen. You can reset the Current Check Number there. Please make sure to save your change by clicking the "Update" button. When you add a new check, you will see the new check number there.

How to fill out a check on preprinted blank check?
